Handoff currently has no version history, undo functionality, or change recovery for documents, site notes, or the scope of work editor. Any accidental deletion — whether it's a photo, a paragraph, or a section of text — is permanent and unrecoverable.
On my current project (a $262K cabin remodel and covered deck addition), I'm generating legally significant documentation including site notes with photo evidence, a detailed scope of work, and client-facing project records. The inability to recover accidental edits is a real data integrity risk, not just a workflow inconvenience. In the event of a client dispute, that documentation trail matters.
For context, version history and undo/redo are standard features in every major document editor — Google Docs, Notion, Microsoft Word, Confluence — and have been for decades. This is solved technology.
