Travel Costs: include gas, worker travel time, lodging, etc.

As contractors, we cover a large service area, often a 60-90 minutes radius from a home base location. There are real costs involved in having crews drive vehicles multiple times a week to a project that's 1 hr away. Handoff should include these costs in the estimate.

Consider things like the distance from home base to project (in time and mileage), gasoline (at my local gas rates), average mpg, the number of vehicles/workers sent, the number of trips, etc.

I still pay for my crews' time even if they're just driving from our office to the jobsite.

For remote projects, crew lodging and per diems (meals, supplies etc) may be required.
